![]() ![]() When I get there, it isn’t the last-minute backyard party I’d expected given DeMarco’s Instagram announcement. ![]() That’s not much of an exaggeration: In the 20 or so minutes it takes me to walk from my apartment to the site of Mac DeMarco’s barbecue, there are moments where I have to actually think about the process of breathing. This day, though, possesses the kind of vicious sun that makes you feel like you’ve put yourself in some vague danger by being outside for more than 10 minutes, coupled with the kind of humidity that thickens beyond stifling and approaches suffocating. Up until now, it’s primarily been a merciful and mild summer in New York City. ![]()
